How Machiavelli from Luca inspired my Inktober 2021
There's art in everything we do. There's an artist in all of us. There's a sense of desire to express our thoughts through more means than verb. And somewhere this desire makes us want to create.
Jake Parker started Inktober, a month long challenge with daily prompts to draw- something, anything, based on the prompt. His goal in 2009 was simple - to improve his skills and develop a positive drawing habit. With growing social media, and an ever more connected world, Inktober today has become a global artists challenge and very much an artistic phenomenon. Consistency and forming a habit of consistency is at the heart of this challenge.

The daily prompts are unique and often quite challenging. Towards the end of September 2021, I had watched the heartwarming Disney Pixar's Animated Movie Luca. With the challenge just around, Machiavelli, the cat from the movie made for a great inspiration.
As a beginner, drawing everyday was a revelation of my own creativity and basing them in a character like Machiavelli helped form a story, which in my own expression is how I understand art. I started simple, but soon I found myself adding easter eggs and more in-depth meaning to my art. It was quite a fantastic experience to draw everyday.
All 31 drawings are as follows -

How many easter eggs did you notice? (hint: Friends, the TV show; the Secret life of Pets; Marvel's What if; and maybe more)
